This year, we opted to stay home for Thanksgiving. Dustin only got 4 days off and it just wasn't enough time to travel to Indiana and back. So, we made the best of it and had a wonderful littlefamily day.
Starting the morning off with a duel
He insisted on eating plain parmesian...
While I got started in the kitchen, the boys spent the morning playing.
He missed a spot...
After deciding that it was time to put the markers away, I cleaned Xavier up and asked him to help me in the kitchen. He helped me mix together the pumpkin sheet cake that we had. We had lots of fun! And the dessert was delicious!!
Finished Product
Rather than making an entire Thanksgiving feast that I knew would be wasted, we decided to have chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and rolls. It was still holiday food but much more practical for the three of us. Dust helped out and we had a great morning in the kitchen :)
When it was lunch time, we turned on the Christmas music, and "dug in." It was great! Xavier loved eating with the music on and ended up dancing the majority of the meal :)
What we are most thankful for :)
My guy <3
Yummy dessert!
Dessert for Beanie too! He ate an entire piece!
After lunch, we spent the rest of the day loungin' around, eating leftovers and Dust and Xavier went to the park. It was a wonderful holiday spent with my two favorite guys.
Thanksgiving day at Tom Brown Park
:)
We finished off the night by starting our "Christmas book countdown" (post coming soon) and drinking hot chocolate while watching "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown."
