Polar Express Day

For their Christmas party, Xavier's class had a "Polar Express" day. Polar Express is a book adapted into a movie for children. It is about kids taking a train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve in their PJ's. Anyway, Cookie the elf must have caught wind of this because the morning of Xavier's party, we found him on the chase lounge with a gift for Beanie- a new pair of special pajamas just for his special day! Xavier LOVED them!

When we woke up, we recorded the hunt for Cookie:

Typically Xavier is a pretty polite little guy, but as you could see, he was determined to NOT thank Cookie for his gift. He acted like thanking a stuffed animal was silly :)

So, Dust took Bean to school per usual. For their special day, they all brought a special sack lunch from home. We packed some of Beanie's favs for the occasion. They read the book, had a blanket party and watched the movie. They also shared some yummy (though not nutritious at all…) snacks, and enjoyed their lunches. They spent the day making ornaments and celebrating the season. Miss Bryonne sent us some pics via email during the day and it made them brighter :)

When I picked Beanie up, I brought his teacher's gift. I had him take it to her and in exchange she gave him his gift from her :) She gave him a bag full of goodies that consisted of a bubble set, a new hot wheel car and a christmas cup with candy canes in it. She also gave him a place mat that had Jake and the Neverland Pirates on it. She said when she asked him what he wanted he just kept saying "Jake" over and over again :)

We are so thankful for a school that goes to such extremes to celebrate these special times with our little guy :)
