9 Month Checkup and Shots

Last Friday, we went to the doctor for Xavier's 9 month checkup and a round of shots. Technically, they were his 6 month shots because Dustin and I are spreading the shots out more than the "suggested" schedule.

Playing at the Dr.!

He weighed 27 lbs and was 30 inches long :) He is above the 99th percentile for both....

The average baby is age weighs 19 lbs and is 28 inches long....so he is a healthy baby! The doctor was very happy with his size and development. He is perfect!

She gave him his shots and he barely shed a tear. He did so good! The next day he was lethargic and had a high temperature but besides that, he recovered well!

Baby Bean is sitting up again...but this time it is from any position! This week he has mastered a new skill. He can push himself up to the sitting position from any other position. He loves to roll around on the ground and then push himself up. He is so proud of himself!! Videos are coming soon :)

Daddy the Chef!

Have I mentioned lately that Dustin is not only the most amazing husband in the world, but also the most amazing father?

Well, he is :)

While studying to become a doctor, Dustin has taken up a new hobby...making baby food! I have mentioned in the past that we are making Xavier's food so that we have complete control over what he gets but Dustin gets all of the credit for this. He has researched what foods are appropriate, how to prepare the food so that Bean gets the most nutrients out of the food and even the amounts to give him.

Xavier eats only organic fruits, veggies, and meats. Dustin is a slave to the blender. There are not many people, especially fathers, who would take the time to make there baby food from scratch...but for Dustin, this is a priority.

Yummy blueberries and apples!
He has mastered chicken, turkey, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, and blueberries. The only thing that we buy prepackaged is the GERBER Organic Green beans. Next on the list is mango :)

We are so lucky to have a hubby/daddy that puts so much time and effort into the little details :)

We love you so much Dust!

Teeth!!!!!!

Baby Bean's first two teeth finally broke through the gums last night! He went to bed with no teeth and woke up with two! They are absolutely adorable!!!

Of course, he won't let me anywhere near them. I tried 100 times to get a good pic and this was the best I could do :(

You can't really see them, but we swear they are there! So cute!

8 Month Update :)

Xavier is 8 months old. It is so hard to believe. He is getting so big and learning so many new things! We are having a blast!

Happy Baby :)

-Every day he is laughing more and more. We are truly starting to see his personality. He is so happy!

As noted in the "Milestones" section, he has learned lots of new tricks :) He is doing "Baby in a Picture Frame", clapping on command, waving, high-fiving, and babbling more and more! His favorite word is still dada but he is experimenting with new sounds.

He is eating solid food three times a day and the fourth is just a bottle. His eating schedule is pretty concrete...however, we are noticing that we have to "up" the amounts of food soon because he is becoming more restless at night. In order to avoid giving him extra calories after a big meal, we sometimes just give him a bottle with water in it and it satisfies him for a couple hours.

Playing in the sun :)

He has gained very little weight since his last check up and as best we can tell, he now weighs approximately 25 pounds. He will go back to the doctor within the month for his 9 month checkup but until then, we are weighing him on our scale at home.

He is sitting up like a champ and has started trying to sit up on his own. He gets closer every day! He is rolling and leaning and moving more rapidly and we can tell his motor skills are improving as well.

He has always been a good sleeper, but the past month has been rough. He gets up several times throughout the night and the only thing that he seems to "want" is to be held. He doesn't seem to be hungry, need changed, or need the temperature to be altered. We aren't sure what is going on with him but it is killing both of us! We haven't had a good night sleep for a month and it is starting to take it's toll. I have researched it but have found nothing that seems plausible. Just pray that Beanie starts sleeping well again and that mommy and daddy get some rest too :)

Lovin' on daddy :)

Indiana Ranked No. 1

Although the Superbowl was Sunday, we had our "superbowl" Saturday night when IU played Number 1 ranked Michigan. It was an amazing game! We won and now Indiana is ranked first in the nation. We are two very proud Alumni! In honor of our ranking, I decided to put together some fun pics of Beanie supporting the Hoosiers :)
