Early Ornament Shopping

A couple weekends ago, the three of us went to the mall to get Bean's Halloween costume. While we were there, we did some shopping, grabbed some dinner, and on the way out we stopped at Hallmark to see what ornaments were available this year. We were just going to look around when I spotted "the ornament." Usually, Dustin finds one that cracks him up, Xavier points to the ones that he wants, and I just pick one that is cute. This year, though, an ornament finally spoke to me! When I showed Dust, he knew instantly, too. It is Dumbo and his mama. When you push the button, the ornament sings "Baby Mine" which is the song I have sung to Xavier every night of his life!

I was so excited to have found it and told Dust that when we had "ornament day" in November, that I would get that one. He insisted that I get it that day though because I never found ornaments that "spoke to me." (We take ornaments very seriously, can you tell? haha)

I looked underneath the display where the boxed ornaments were and there was only one Dumbo left while all of the others had tons! At that point, Dust didn't give me a choice-- he made me get it :)

I was apprehensive because "ornament day" is one of my favorite days of the year and I hated doing something so special on a non-special day but Dust assured me that this way we would have two ornament days…so I went with it :)

Xavier LOVED looking at all of them and picked out a turtle sandbox that was ADORABLE. Ok, maybe I pressured him a little bit….

Anyway, we decided to wait on the turtle sandbox ornament because he picked out several that he wanted. We decided that he could pick his ornament when Daddy got his.

Just like his sandbox!

We realize it is weird to buy an ornament the first weekend in October, but we had fun and I love my ornament!!!!!

Trike-a-thon Prizes

So because we shared about Beanie's adventure with the Trike-a-thon, it is only fitting that we share the results. I may have mentioned that he raised more than any of the kids at his school! In fact, he raised 33% of the total amount that his school collected! We are so thankful to the friends and family that sponsored him for his "race."

So, a couple weeks ago, Beanie got his prizes for winning- an adorable T-shirt and an even cuter back pack. He loved them! He especially loved parading into school the next day sporting them both :)

Daddy caught a few pics before they went to school that day :)

Weight Training with Daddy!

I mentioned previously that the weather here has been amazing. It still gets brutally hot during the day but the evenings are so nice that we can't help but spend 2 or 3 a week at the park with Beanie.

Anyway, I just had to share this adorable video of Xavier hanging from the monkey bars. Dustin has taught him how to hold himself up, if only for a brief moment. It is especially adorable because before he takes the plunge he says "I want to hold you" which is how he asks us to pick him up. It is so cute!!!

Think Pink

Xavier's school declared October 2nd as "Think Pink" day. All of the students were encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer. For us, this was a challenge as Xavier has NO pink clothes.

When Dustin got home from work the evening before, he ran to Target to look for something, anything pink. Hilariously enough, there was another father looking in the toddler section for exactly the same thing.

Target was a lost cause so he hopped across the street to Walmart. Again, nothing. All the other clothing stores were closed at this time so we had no choice but to send him to school without pink.

We received an email the next day, however, with the following picture:

They made him a pink "boy headband" and let him wear it throughout the day :)

We also saw on his school's Facebook page later that day this cute pic!

We are thankful for a school that keeps us in the loop, encourages the students to participate in activities and is so much fun for our little man!

Sunday Afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch!

Early in October, we took Beans to the nearby town of Monticello, Florida where there is an adorable little farm. This farm turns into a little fall festival in October and it has a hayride, maze, barrel ride, animals that you can feed, treats and of course pumpkins! It was a cute little day, despite the scorching heat. We got some AMAZING pics and video footage :)
