Spring Carnival

My school holds a spring carnival every year. It is a BIG deal. They bring in food vendors, bouncy houses, rock climbing walls, even mechanical bulls! We've gone both years now and it is always a good (and hot, and crowded) time. :)

This year, we were hoping Xavier would be big enough to participate in some of the booths. Unfortunately, he was just not quite ready to do some of the activities. His favorites included ski ball, the bouncing zebra race with daddy, playing on the playground (duh!) and getting prizes.

He tried a dinosaur bounce house with a slide but it did not end well. All of the kids piled up at the bottom of the slide and this was overwhelming to him. Daddy pulled him out and we didn't revisit this booth…

Once we got home, it was time to play with all of his prizes! He was particularly obsessed with his doggie balloon.

Unfortunately, 20 seconds after the above picture was taken, the balloon popped...

This was a hard one to swallow for Beanie...

So…we caved and let him eat the skittles he had one at the carnival and all was well :)

BIG NEWS! :)

After Christmas, Dustin and I started talking about the logistics of buying a home. It seemed that the time was right as we are soon completing our family with the addition of Luke and we know we will be in Tallahassee indefinitely.

A quick convo that we had one weekend spurred me to contact a lender and before I knew it, we were pre-approved for a home loan. We began shopping for homes in February with our only goal being to find something before school started in August. We didn't want to rush and put the pressure on ourselves of finding something before Luke arrived but would welcome it if we found something just right.

Well, after internet searches, hiring a realtor and seeing a dozen homes, we found THE home, much more quickly than we anticipated :)

We put an offer on the home the last day of February and after some negotiating, we were officially purchasing the home in the beginning of March. If all goes well, we will close mid-May and begin the moving process. We will be in our new home just in time for Luke!! :)

Growing, Growing!

Recently, I was just watching Beanie take a nap on the couch when I realized it: he has grown again! He looked SO long laying there in his undies! When he woke up, I told him we were going to measure him to see if I was right. By now, he knows the drill. He stood with his feet back against the wall and his head forward. He waits so patiently to see the end result. It's hilarious. Anyway, I was right! He has grown an 1 ½ inches in 2 months! He is now just over 39 inches.

We are so thankful for a healthy little boy who continues to grow strong and learn :)

Luke's Baby Shower

On Tuesday, April 14th, my school threw baby Luke a shower :) It was so nice of them! I told them not to worry about it since Luke is our third baby, but they insisted. They knew that we donated most of our baby boy stuff when we found out Penelope was a girl and they wanted to do this for Dustin and I. They are so sweet :)

So, we had a lot of laughs, yummy treats, and were overwhelmed with the generosity that my co-workers bestowed upon us. I know I've said it 100 times, but I seriously lucked out getting this job and working with a group of such wonderful people! We had an amazing time!!

We can't wait to meet you Luke! :) You are already so loved!!

6 ½ weeks to go!
