"Aunt" Kelly comes to play :)

As I mentioned previously, Kelly, one of my best friends from IU, came to visit last weekend! Her brother lives in the area so she spent Friday with him and Saturday with us. This was the first time that she and Beanie met so it was special. Unfortunately, the flu that was going around at the time caught up with him and he was not himself for a few days. Still, we made the best of it and it was SO good to see her!

Saturday morning, Dustin and I woke up and sanitized the house like crazy. I was so paranoid that we were going to get Kelly sick so we scrubbed EVERYTHING. I texted her twice to make sure that she knew that we had been sick but she insisted that she would be fine.

After meeting up with her, we ran my parents some medicine and headed home to see Beanie.

One of the outfits Kelly bought me!

It was love at first sight! For Kelly, that is. I "accidentally" woke him from a nap so he was not in the best of moods.

We spent the afternoon playing with baby, oogling over the gifts she had bought Beanie and watching TV.

Candid that Kelly got of our little family!

For dinner, we went to Crabby Bills.

Love her!

After dinner, we went out on the beach...which is HUGE because this was Beanie's first time! We documented the whole experience...

Feet in the water!!

Beanie's first time at the beach :)

Baby footprints!

After the beach, we went home and hung out for a bit before going to bed (we are party animals...). The next morning my mom was feeling better so after Kelly and I grabbed breakfast on the beach we headed to see her. We sat in the lounge chairs and talked while we enjoyed coffee and the view. It was nice to just sit and chat :)

Ahhh :)

We headed home and it was time for Kelly to leave. She got ready and packed up her stuff. We jumped in the car and headed to the airport. Her trip went by so quickly! When she got out of the car, we exchanged hugs and goodbyes...but we would see her again sooner than later.

About 20 minutes later on the drive back home, Dustin's phone rang. It was Kelly on a pay phone. She had forgotten her phone in our car!! We turned around and headed back for the airport...silly girl:)

It was nice to say bye again because who knows when we will see each other again!

Thanks for coming, Kel! We love you!!!

Our Eventful Weekend!

Last weekend, the Bledsoe's were SUPER busy! Thursday night, my parents got in from Indiana and stayed for five days. Saturday, Kelly, a friend from college, stayed with us (that post is coming soon). We were so excited to have guests!

Thursday night my parents met us at my school. It was Open House so I had to stay in my classroom until 8pm. They drive through Tampa on their way to our house so they stopped in to see us. Dustin and baby were there too so they just couldn't wait to see Beanie :)

Beanie at School!

That night, at 2am, Dustin woke up vomiting. We soon realized that he had the stomach flu. Awesome.

I told my parents the next morning and they assured us that they would be fine. They watched Beanie that day at their condo while I was at work Dustin was at home. They insisted on keeping him and not sending him to home care.

They had a great day with Bean and that evening, they took me and the baby to dinner on the water. After dinner, my mom was feeling weird to we headed home. I woke up the next morning to a text from my dad. It said "Mom's sick." Crap.

A few hours later, I found out my dad got sick, too. They were sick all weekend so we didn't see much of them. Such a waste of a vacation and room on the water :( We felt awful.

Sunday evening, they were beginning to feel better. They took Beanie and I to Outback and then spent about a million dollars on us at Babies'R'Us.

Monday, they met us at our house so that Dustin could take me on a date. He took me to a nice restaurant on the beach called "The Wine Cellar." After dinner, we went for a walk and enjoyed having a babysitter for only the second time.

Tuesday morning, they headed home around 3AM. We were so sad that we didn't get to spend more time with them. I didn't even get many pictures :(

Hopefully the next vacation goes better!

Massage Me, Mama!

After reading about baby massages in one of my books, I decided to try it out on Beanie. It is much like an adult massage, just gentler! Bean LOVED it from the very first session. Watching him get a "massage" is hilarious. He coos and talks. He lays contently and thoroughly enjoys himself. When I stop, he fusses. He is obsessed!

:)

Enjoying his lotion lather!

I love massages :)

I love this quiet time that we share and try to do it every other night now, as it really soothes him! It is adorable and hilarious. Can you tell we are enjoying our little bundle of joy? :)

Sleeeeep!

I hesitated for quite a while to make this post...after all, I didn't want to jinx it! But after two weeks of blissful sleep, I finally feel comfortable posting!

You may remember me mentioning that we had to up Xavier's meals to 6 ounces a few weeks ago. Well, as soon as we did this, he began sleeping for extended periods of time throughout the night. By extended, I mean 8-9-10-even 11 hours!

The first few nights were stressful. I didn't know if sleeping this long was normal this early and I actually got less sleep than if he had been up all night. After extensive research, however, I realized that he is just a REALLY good baby and he is starting to sleep all night!

On average, he eats around 6PM, goes to sleep around 8pm and wakes up at 4AM. We get up pretty early so this 4AM feeding doesn't really bother us. We have talked about trying to keep him up later and hold him off foodwise for a little longer but it boils down to us catering to his needs, not our own :)

Regardless of his schedule, he is a wonderful baby and we are so blessed to have him. He brings so much joy to our lives!

Saturday Morning Mamas!

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine invited Beanie and I to join a "Mommy's" club. Beanie and I are always up for new adventures and friends so we agreed of course! We met on Saturday for the first time. There is a walking/biking trail that runs throughout Pinellas county and it is great! We happen to live a block away from one of the entrances so we frequent it often.

Saturday morning, Beanie and I hopped on the trail and met with Jen and some other mama's. We walked 4 miles and stopped at the park to "play." It was great to meet new people and we are looking forward to continuing this Saturday morning tradition :)

Here are some pics of our morning!
Let's go mama!

Excited to play at the park!
