Guppy's

Last Friday night, after a long week, Dustin and I decided we deserved a nice dinner. Of course, Beanie did too :)

After driving up and down the coast, we decided on "Guppy's", a restaurant across from the water that we had never been to. Upon arriving, the parking lot was full so we parked on the next block and headed toward the restaurant.

Once we got inside, the hostess asked us if we preferred outside or inside. It looked like rain, but the outside tables were under a porch and had plastic collapsable walls that could be dropped in case of bad weather. We told her first available and walked outside to wait.

After a few short moments, we were buzzed and taken to a table outside...near the sidewalk...not under the porch. I looked at her slightly puzzled and then looked at the baby. She quickly spoke, clearly reading my thoughts. She told us that they checked the weather and while it looked like rain, it was passing right by us. We contemplated waiting for a table inside, and decided that we would just take the outside table.

Dinner at Guppy's

Tired baby after a long hard week at home care :)

Hey mama!

We sat down and chatted about the beautiful scenery, our days and of course Bean. When our food came, we were impressed. It looked great and tasted even better! I had the crab cakes and Dust got the swordfish.

Beanie LOVED LOVED LOVED eating outside!

While eating, Beanie got a little fidgety so I picked held him while I ate. We should have known then...

Shortly after the above picture was taken...the next picture was taken...

Before we knew what happened, rain started pelting down...hard...while we were eating dinner...outside...

The next couple minutes went quickly. We paid as fast as possible (we shouldn't have...) and Dust came up with a game plan. My job was to run Beanie and I with our umbrella to the car a block away and unlock it. He would grab the carseat (which was soaked), diaper bag (which was soaked) and all of our personal items (which were soaked).

By the time Beanie and I got back to the car, my clothes were soaked but I managed to keep him dry. By the time Dustin got to the car, it looked as though he had just jumped in a pool :(

We used a few choice words...and headed home.

Comfort bottle on the way home...

At least I got to eat outside, Mama :)
