Tuesday, while I was at work, Dustin took Beanie to the doctor for his first round of shots. I was so thankful that Dustin took care of this because I just don't have the heart to watch my little man in any discomfort. It is much more upsetting to me than Beanie, I am sure!

Watching basketball with dad before the doctor :) |
When Dustin arrived at the Doctor's office, he texted me to ask a few questions. A few texts turned into a series of texts complaining about the long wait.

We are here! |

Still waiting... |
After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes (fifteen of which were his own fault for being early...) he was called back. First, the nurse weighed Xavier. He weighed in at 16lbs. 1oz. According to Dustin, Beanie was not a fan of getting weighed. Next he was measured, which he was also not a fan of. He was 25 inches long! In just 2 1/2 weeks he gained 1 1/2 lbs and grew an inch! He is so happy and healthy...we are so blessed!!!
When the doctor came in, Beanie was asleep because he was traumatized by the scale.

My favs :) |
Dr. Chavez asked about concerns, milestones, how much he eats (5 oz. per feeding), and how much he is sleeping, (5-6 hours at a time). The doctor mentioned that Beanie was very strong and that it was excellent that he was rolling over (half way at least). He also said that it is good that he plays and talks to himself without having to be played with. He is very independent :) Again he did exercises with Bean and told Dustin of things we can do at home to further his strength as well.
After the doctor left, the nurse came in with the shots. At this appointment, he received three shots and one oral medication. Beanie had already been crying from the doctor flexing and stretching him so he cried through the shots as well. As soon as the nurse was done, Dust scooped him up and put him in his car seat. He immediately got quiet...he LOVES his car seat :)

"I can't believe you let them do that DAD!" |
That night at home, Dustin iced his little thighs and we snuggled him until bedtime.

Waking up and not very happy... |
He reacted great! No fever, no symptoms of any kind! He was a little sore for a day or two and seemed less alert than usual the next day, but beside that he did marvelous!
We love him oh so much! :)
