Luke: Day 4 GOING HOME!

On day four, also known as Friday, the nurse took Luke from me at 5 AM to get some blood to check his bilirubin. By the time Dustin arrived that morning, they had the results. It had jumped from 8 to 11. Yikes :(

We were devastated. The nurse told us there was no way that they would send him home. Dustin and I had reached the end of our ropes. 

We spent the morning with LB and then reluctantly left the hospital around 11 AM. I hadn't been home since Monday night and wanted to shower in my own bathroom and get a fresh set of clothes. We had not been home for long when we got a call from the hospital. It was the NICU calling to tell us that Luke COULD in fact be discharged. We were ELATED!!! We showered, dressed, grabbed a quick lunch and headed straight to the hospital.

Going Home

We packed up our stuff, grabbed the baby and we were on our way!!

We went to Bean's school immediately and he was surprised to see me in the car since he knew I'd been in the hospital for 4 days. He was even more surprised to see his little brother in the car. It was adorable.

We headed straight for home and spent the afternoon/evening together as a family of 4. Xavier got to know his little Luke and they even exchanged presents that they bought for one another.  It was wonderful :)
