At this appointment, I made it very clear that I wasn't leaving without answers. At this point, Luke had been sick for nearly 5 weeks. I think she knew I meant business because her new plan was aggressive. She told us to continue the Albuterol treatments and she put him on a steroid for his lungs. Next, she looked in his ears and they STILL looked awful. This double ear infection has been present since the beginning of December. She wrote him a script for the nastiest antibiotic they have and assured me that if this didn't work, we would be sent to the ENT.
After a few days, Luke's cold symptoms passed. He started sleeping better for a night or two, too which we thought meant his ears were finally clearing up. After 3 days on the antibiotic, he started having tummy troubles and filling his diaper around the clock. His bottom was RAW. The worst diaper rash I have ever seen! Now, at night instead of his ears keeping him up, it was his tush :( The whole process of getting rid of one ailment just for another to take place was so frustrating.

By the time we gave him the last dose of the antibiotic, his diaper rash was finally under control. It wasn't great but there were at least no open wounds.
We went back to the doctor last week for his 9 month well (post coming soon) as well as an ear checkup up. Unfortunately, he still has the ear infections so our next step is the ENT. We are being referred and will see what will come of it. Nights are still rough and we are all suffering! Keep us in your prayers :)
