Hawks Rise Mets!

Xavier is old enough this spring to be on a Tball team! We were so excited to sign him up this year and I researched a couple avenues we could take. Ultimately, we went with the local YMCA program as a few of his friends from school were going that route. I am friends with the moms so it seemed like the most fun option! While it isn't the most organized program we've been involved in, we have had lots of fun so far :)

The weekend before practice, Dustin picked X up from school and took him to our Sporting Goods store. There, they picked out all of the equipment that X would need. When they got home, Xavier was OVER-THE-MOON! After he showed me all his new gear, they went outside and "practiced" until it was dark outside. Needless to say the dinner I had cooked was cold by the time they ate!

The next day, I picked the boys up from school. We ran home so I could get everyone fed and dressed. Then we hurried off to the ball field for X's first practice!

Xavier LOVED it! He also loves the fact that the ball field he practices at is at my school! Dustin had to miss it due to work, unfortunately, but of course I took a million pics and vids so between Xavier's description and my documentation, he was able to hear all about it.

The next Wednesday, we headed back to the field for practice. Xavier did a great job listening and following the rules! When I told him this was his last practice before his first game, he had a mini-panic attack because he said he wasn't good at tball. Dustin's perfectionism has taken root, it seems, in our 3 year old! Ha. I talked him off the ladder and he decided that a baseball game might be fun...

There first game was rained out, unfortunately. On the bright side, we get one more practice before we play! The first game should be interesting (hilarious). :)
