School Halloween Party

This year I decided again to take the morning off from work to attend the boys' Halloween party at school. The school asked parents to put on a trunk or treat this year. If you aren't familiar with it, you simply pick a theme and decorate your trunk and pass out candy while you stand by said trunk.

Well, I knew early on that X and LB were going to be Mario Brothers characters so I took the theme and ran with it. I spent a whole week of lunches and planning periods (and some evenings at home, too) prepping for the trunk or treat. What we do for our kids, right?!

I have to admit that projects like this are therapeutic for me. I do enjoy crafting and producing cute projects with/for my boys :)

Also, this project prompted Dustin and I to pull out the Wii and start playing Mario after the kids go to bed each night which has been totally fun!

The morning of the party, I got the boys dressed in their costumes and they were just as cute as you'd expect.

Dustin got them off to school while I prepared some Halloween treats for the party. Also, I dressed up as Princess Peach, another Mario character. (Ok- I put on a crown and wore a peach shirt, but it still counts :)

Ghosts!

After I had prepared the treats and packed up the car with all of the stuff I needed, I headed to their school to prepare for trunk or treat!

Next, I went inside to help set up the food. My Yoshi decided he didn't need his turtle shell or hat but I made my peace with it :)

Love this face!

The tail cracks me up

And off they went!

Some of the other parents went a little crazy as well. There was a good balance and at least 15 cars for the kids to travel to. Also, the small businesses in the same plaza participated so a great time was had by all :)

After Bean's class came through, it was Lukey's turn! He sat on top of all of the other babies to keep them down haha!

That Smile!

Seriously?!

After all the classes trick or treated, I headed in to help with Bean's party. I got to sit and enjoy some Safari Man with him as well.

<3
For the rest of the time, I sat by Bean while he enjoyed his friends and his party food. We SO enjoyed the morning together and as I left, I found myself (once again) so thankful for their school and the opportunity to be apart of such amazing moments with my little guys!

After kissing X bye (he was devastated to see me go :() and kissing LB by, I headed back to work with a full heart <3
