PLAYGROUND!!!!!!

So While Bryan and Niki were here, we put together the huge playground. It took an entire day of the four of us (ok, mostly Dustin and Bryan but Niki and I helped where we could!) and then several more hours later that Dustin worked alone to put together.

Let me preface by saying that Dustin and I wanted to get the boys a playground as soon as we moved into our new home in May. Because of this, many people gave Xavier gift cards and money for his birthday to purchase the playground. Ruth and Warren, Grandma Lucy, Grandma NeNe and Mimi and Papa: THANK YOU SO MUCH! We were able to pool the money together and add it to our own playground budget and get the boys a playground that they can really grow into :)

As soon as we got confirmation from Bryan that he was coming in December, Dustin started researching playgrounds and chose the one that had the biggest slide and the most features :) He ordered it and it was delivered about a week before Bryan arrived. THIS WAS TORTURE FOR BEAN! Every day was a countdown to Grandpa coming and building his playset!

Waiting patiently

So, when the day finally came, you can imagine Bean's excitement!! It was quite a process but by the time the sunset, it was functional enough to play on! In the coming days, Dust was able to finish it up.

Getting dark!

After they got the most functional pieces of the playground done, it was dark and time to call it a day. Xavier was so excited and thankful for his swing set! In preparation for this moment, I had X sit down and make his grandpa a "thank you" of sorts in a couple weeks prior.

Making grandpa's thank you canvas :)

After!

When Xavier gave it to Grandpa, he compared it to a Van Gogh ;-)

Thank you tickles :)

The next few days, Dustin finished up the forts and picnic table little by little.

We have already had so much fun playing on the play set and AGAIN we cannot express enough gratitude to Bryan for making it happen :)

We are so blessed to have him!
