A lot has happened this month! The most notable advance that he has made is that he is transitioning from sitting position to crawling position. He wants to move so bad! Especially in the last few days, Dustin and I have noticed that he is more mobile. He is scooting on his bottom and starting to try to pull himself up with no success.
He is still not rolling but when I spoke with the doctor about it she was actually pleased because this means he can only sleep on his back. She said some babies just skip that step and that because he is sitting up and moving, he is fine! While we were at the doctor for his 6 month checkup (he was actually 6.5 months at the time) he weighed 24lbs and was 27 inches long. I went back and compared this to Bean's size at 6 months and he was 23 lbs and 29 inches!
Luke is still not sleeping well. For the last month he has struggled with a double ear infection, a sinus infection, a couple bouts of congestion and non-stop teething. With all of these ailments comes sleeping troubles. Mama is tired! He has consistently gotten up at least 4 times each night for nearly a month. Poor baby :( The good news is that during the day, he is mostly completely happy and pleasant.
He has now tried (and liked) nearly all of the solid foods Gerber offers. He eats 3 solid meals a day and has about 5-8 bottles in a 24 hour period depending on how the night goes. He is also VERY interested in what we are eating. He reaches for our plates and does everything within his power to get to our food. Xavier dropped a pretzel on the floor last weekend without my knowledge. By the time I realized it, he has sucked on it until it was soggy! I panicked thinking of what could have happened and used it as an opportunity to discuss with X the importance of keeping food and other small items off the ground. Luke, however, thought it was hilarious and THOROUGHLY enjoyed the pretzel!
He is saying "mama" and "baba" (bottle) on a pretty consistent basis these days :)
This month, he outgrew his mesh bath and now sits in the tub on his bottom when bathing alone and in a laundry basket when bathing with Bean (a precaution that you would understand if you saw how Bean bathes ;-)
Luke LOVES music, his ball pit, eating, his brother, Midnight, playing outside, being held, and watching Xavier play with big boy toys.
Luke dislikes napping or sleeping of any sort and any moment that he is not being played with!
He is the smiliest, giggliest, happiest baby!
