6 Months Old!

I CANNOT believe Luke is already 1/2 year old. It has gone so fast. He is getting bigger and stronger every day!

We had a rough start with Luke (NICU, Colic, reflux). He was definitely a MUCH more difficult baby than X ever was. But holy cow, when he smiles and giggles, it just doesn't matter! He is happier now than ever and sitting up has created a whole new world for him!  He will go for much longer periods of time without needing to be held which has been a definite struggle. He is currently amazing at sitting up. He can sit up for extended periods of time (15-20 minutes). It is his favorite thing to do now as he can see everything around him. He has rolled over twice and hasn't given it a second thought since- haha.

This month we introduced him to baby food and oatmeal cereal. He is eating baby food really well now and gets three solid meals a day. Also this month, we decided to skip a dose or two of his reflux medicine to see if he had outgrown it yet. That was 2 weeks ago and we haven't looked back since! He no longer has GERD issues, hallelujah!

The last time I weighed him at home he was nearly 23 pounds. That was before baby food so who knows what he weighs now... We will get official measurements at his well-check which is in a couple weeks.

He is still getting up up-to 3 times a night.  Add this to the fact that X has recently started having night issues again and this mama is tired! I am ready for both of these boys to start snoozin'!

The biggest change that I've seen in Luke this month is his awareness. He and Midnight interact now which is hilarious. He loves reaching for her and she has suddenly decided that he is "OK." Luke's favorite person in the world is Xavier. He laughs and laughs and laughs at his big brother and there are times when only Xavier can get him to calm down. He is also a Mama's boy. He has started crying when I leave the room which makes Dustin's life challenging as there are just times in a mama's life that she needs to leave the room!

He loves to watch TV (Daniel Tiger is his favorite but he will settle for anything bright and animated) and he loves being outside. He naps well in his swing and enjoys his exersauser for about 10 minutes before he is over it. He LOVES looking in the mirror! He loves it when we sing silly songs to him. He is really ticklish but not quite as ticklish as Beanie was/is. He LOVES bath time with his brother and even more so with his mama. He has outgrown his baby tub. He has started to babble a bit and I swear I have heard "mama" a couple times, but Dust doesn't believe me :)

He is our pride and joy. We just love him so very much and are so blessed that God chose him to complete our family <3
