Spring Break 2017: Part 1

This year, I had planned on driving back to Indiana with the babies for Spring Break. We usually spend it somewhere warmer but my grandma's 75th birthday party fell during this week so it was a great excuse to travel north. After my parents caught wind of my plans, they nixed them immediately. They aren't comfortable with me making the long drive alone, let alone with the babies so my dad booked a flight to Tallahassee the first night of Spring Break and then booked sub-sequential flights for all of us into Indy the following day.

Waiting to pick papa up from the airport

PRECIOUS!

Of course, I made my dad his favorite meal! Lasagna and chocolate cake :)

Saturday morning, we kissed Dust goodbye and off to work he went. The boys, my dad, and I went to breakfast and then headed for the airport.

We waited for our flight and while Xavier has flown tons of times, this is the first time he really remembers and he was SO excited! Also, this was Lukey's first flight ever!

LOL

We flew first class which was amazing considering we were juggling Luke. The extra space was appreciated! We flew from Tallahassee into Atlanta and then had a 45 minute layover before flying to Indy.

The first flight went well. Luke was pretty well behaved and, though he wanted his own seat, he settled for my lap and the Mickey mouse movie on the ipad.

Once we got into Atlanta, we ran through the airport. 45 minutes in a HUGE airport is not a lot of time...

Meltdown in ATL

After we boarded the second flight, it was near naptime. Luke never fell asleep but Xavier did :)

Once we landed we were exhausted from a day of travel and thankful to be nearly home! The cold weather was a bit shocking though. The first thing Xavier said when we stepped outside was "Ok, guys. This place is cold!"

We all jumped in my dad's truck and headed to dinner with my mom and the Stakemans. We met at MCL and the babies so enjoyed eating and playing with their cousins!

Finally, we went to my parents where we met Jaijai, my dad's new puppy. The boys LOVED her. It wasn't long before we all crashed from an exhausting day of travel.

The next day was my Grandma Clouse's birthday party. We had a great time catching up with lots of friends and family!

Oliver!

Xavier loved baby Oliver!

That evening we hing out at the Stakeman's new home and played in the basement! We got pizza and fun with our cousins!

So far our Spring break was off to a great start :)
