Going to the Dentist!

A couple weeks ago, Xavier had his first dental appointment. He was not excited about it to say the least and any time I brought it up he would immediately get anxious and tell me he didn't want to go. When we arrived on the day of his appointment, he was apprehensive in the lobby.

Before long, they called us back and because I had an appointment as well, they separated us which I had not prepared him for. His hygenist took him into the kids room and was great with him! After I promised him that he could choose what we had for dinner, he complied and WAS AMAZING. The dentist and the hygenist went on and on about how well behaved he was :)

He finished up before me and when they brought him to me he said "Mama that was so fun! Can we come back!?"

He especially loved the bad of dental goodies that he received and he even got to pick out an item from their treasure chest!

Both of us got a clean bill of health and headed back to Annsworth to pick up Luke. Ironically, the week of Xavier's dental appointment his class was studying dental hygiene. That same morning, Bippo the dental hippo had visited their school to talk with them. So, Xavier brought in his goody bag that afternoon and was able to share with his classmates about his dental appointment, what he learned and the cool new things he got :)  As a teacher, I found it to be an amazing teachable moment! It was very satisfying haha!

That evening, he chose chikfila for dinner (shocking, I know) and when daddy came home and heard about how great he was, he decided that Xavier had earned a trip to Target for a new piece of luggage! XAVIER WAS AND STILL IS OBSESSED! He feels like such a big boy!

So thankful for a well behaved and healthy little man :)
