Just. Crazy.
But, crazy or not, here we are! Xavier is going to KINDERGARTEN next year. Dustin and I decided a few years ago that we would hold Xavier back for Kindergarten because of his June birthday. We would much rather give him that extra year to grow and blossom so that he is the oldest in the class rather than the youngest. After WAY TOO MUCH obsessing and research on my end, we decided that we would do 2 years of kindergarten instead of 2 years of VPK. We would just rather him have access to the more difficult curriculum twice.
In Florida, parents cannot choose to hold their children back so if we sent him to Kindergarten at my school he would not be able to repeat unless academically he needed held back, which would not be the case. For this reason, we have decided on a private preparatory school for his first year of Kindergarten! He then will repeat Kindergarten the following year at my school :)
We have spent the better part of 6 months calling, touring and tabulating expenses trying to make the right choice for our little guy. In the end, we've chosen and amazing Christian school that we are so excited about!
While we were on the tour, we learned a great deal about the academics, day-to-day, and religious aspects of the school. We were just so impressed. Xavier was very excited too. He has talked about it non-stop! We just feel so good about this decision and will do whatever it takes to set our little guy up for success!
