Six Month Sonogram

On February 24th, we went back for another sonogram with the neonatal specialist. This is the sixth sonogram we have had throughout this high risk pregnancy (compared to a total of 3 with Bean). Dr. Hume had asked us to return after the last sonogram, as they couldn't find one of the parts of the heart anatomy that they needed to sign off on.

When I made this appointment, I remembered to schedule it at a time that Dustin was available so he was able to come with me :)

Like usual, we arrived and were seen almost immediately. Once I was on the table, the sonogram tech got right to work. The very first thing we saw was that little heart just a'beatin :) Within seconds, she could see the part of the heart that they couldn't see the visit before. They referred to his anatomy as "textbook" which is always nice to hear. It was a relief to hear his little heart even though he has been so active this pregnancy that I rarely have had even the chance to worry :) Every time I start to panic, there he is with a little kick!

While she was measuring him, she was (not-surprisingly) surprised at how big he was. His body stretched from the bottom of my abdomen to my ribs already! She spoke to him several times telling him he shouldn't be that long yet :) Also, he is an estimated 1 lb. 8 oz.

So, in a nutshell, everything looks great! I am 6 months along and we have just over 3 months to go :)

PERFECT!!!!

Waving his little arm!
