Keeping with tradition, we decided to take Beanie back to Disney World for his second birthday. We actually went the weekend before his birthday because it worked out better with our schedules and we had an AMAZING weekend!
We were planning on getting up early Saturday morning and making the 4 hour drive to Orlando but Friday afternoon (my last day of school) Dust texted me to say he had surprised me and booked a second night at our hotel. I was to head home and pack up. We were leaving tonight instead of tomorrow. Xavier and I raced home, packed up, and waited for Dust to get home. Before we left for Disney, we had a meeting with our realtor. We signed a lease on a new home!!! More to come on that later :)
So, after this meeting, we headed for Disney. Xavier slept the majority of the way and we arrived at the hotel around 10:30pm. We were beat and all immediately went to sleep.
Mickey, here we come!!!
He slept holding his juice...he would not let go!
The next morning, we woke up bright and early and got ready. We packed all the necessities: juice, fruit squeezies, water, snacks, sunscreen, diapers....the list goes on and on when you are traveling with a toddler. Xavier wore his special birthday shirt. It was ADORABLE!
Getting ready!
So excited!
This is the best we can do at getting a pic of all of us... :)
After loading up the car, we hit the road. Our hotel was on Disney property so we had a very short drive. We arrived around 8 and caught the first ferry across to the park. We waited outside the park for about 20 minutes and caught the opening show for the first time!

My Life!
Once, we got in we were caught up in a crowd of literally hundreds of people. They were all going in the same direction- towards the brand new roller coaster that opened. Obviously we can't ride the big coasters so we went in a different direction and were able to get on 5 or 6 rides before even having to wait in line!
We started on the Race Track where we all rode together!
Racin!
Next, we hopped on Buzz Lightyear. That's one of my favorites and Xavier loves to make the car spin. After Buzz, we went on the Astro Orbitor. This is a ride that you have to take an elevator up to and it is REALLY high. It also goes super fast. This was Xavier's first time on it and while I was shocked at how rough it was, he was OBSESSED!
Riding with Daddy!
So High!
Happy baby!
Next up, Teacups! This is one of Bean's favorites for sure!
Too much fun!
After the Teacups, Xavier and I hopped on DUmbo while Dustin went to get our fast passes for the day. Next we met up and walked over to the Barnstormer Bros. Roller Coaster. It is the smallest coaster in the park but their are height requirements. When we went in March, Beanie was about 2 inches too short. Dustin was convinced that he would be too short this time but I insisted we take him up to the measuring post. He had grown so much that he ran right into it! He was taller than it which means he has grown two inches in the last two months! It was so exciting! He couldn't wait to ride this one because he could tell it was a big boy coaster.
Waiting in line for the big boy ride!
Done!
Big Boy getting off the ride
Once we got off the ride, Xavier wanted to do it again so we hopped right back on it for a second time :) That was the best part of this whole trip- Xavier totally called the shots and let us know what he wanted to do and where he wanted to go. He is so grown up :)
After the roller coaster, we went on "Under the Sea" with Ariel and then we took a 20 minute ride on the Disney train around the whole park so that we could rest for a bit and see all the sights.
Woody and Jesse!
This is the most precious picture. He was truly just taking it all in :)
After getting off the train, we used our second fast pass on Peter Pan. Peter Pan is one of the hardest rides to get on in Disney so we knew we would need to schedule it.
Waiting in line for Peter!
Next it was lunch time! We went back to the Columbia Harbour House, one of our favorite lunch spots, because we were right in the area. After lunch, Xavier fell asleep for a few minutes but we had scheduled to get on "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" so the nap was short lived.
After Pooh, we caught a parade on the way to "Pirates of the Caribbean." Xavier wasn't all that interested so we didn't stay long.
Next, we went back to Tomorrowland where we went on the "Peoplemover." Xavier loved it, but by the end had fallen asleep.
Dustin and I decided that it was time for a break so while he slept for about an hour, we enjoyed eachother's company, shopped on Main Street, and got some Starbuck's. We really enjoyed this time together :)
While Beanie was asleep, the biggest parade of the day occurred. He slept all the way through it but I got some good pics :)
After the parade, Beanie woke up and we walked back to Tomorrowland where he pointed at the Astro Orbitor and INSISTED we ride it again. When we got off, he threw a fit. We got back on the People mover, the Barstormer, and the Teacups again...all because he chose those rides. And he had a mini-melt down that would last 30 seconds after each and every one.
Perhaps the funniest moment of the day...twinsies!! hahaha
Next I checked my Disney app and the only ride in the park with no wait was the carousel so we headed straight there.
And he again threw a fit when it was time to get off...
The last stop before our dinner reservation was the Race Cars again.
Can you see his little face peeking back at me? :)
We had reservations at The Plaza where we really enjoyed our dinner. At this time in Disney, most of the kids are a hot mess and everyone is screaming and crying but Xavier just sat like a perfectly behaved little boy and enjoyed dinner with his mama and daddy :)
After dinner, we went on "It's a Small World" where we were forced to listen to Dustin mocking it the whole time...and then we went back for some more Pooh!
By this time it was getting dark so we decided some ice cream might pass the time :) We grabbed a couple sundaes and headed to Pinochio's lodge to enjoy it in the air conditioning.
It was about 9:00 at this time and we had another hour until the fireworks so we went to "Mickey's Philargic 3D show." It was fun and passed some time. Once we exited, we got ready for fireworks and waited until it was time. They were beautiful...but probably not worth the 45 minute wait, and then the line to take a tram back to the car... From now on, we will only stay for the Fireworks if Beanie specifically asks :)
Past his bedtime!
Waiting on Fireworks!
What would I do without this amazing man?
Xavier was asleep before we even got to the tram. We got back to our hotel room around 11:00. It was a LONG day but it was so worth while! Our little man had a BLAST! We all went straight to sleep so that we would be rested for the next day in Animal Kingdom :)
