We had talked for many years about how we only wanted two babies and we wanted them close together. Ideally, they would be 2 to 2 1/2 years apart like Dustin and Clayton and my sisters and I. When Xavier turned 1, I started doing the math and realized we were running out of time! So, this summer we decided to put it in God's hands :) We thought it would take months or maybe not happen at all because I have been told that I can't get pregnant. That doctor was wrong...clearly...because we got pregnant immediately :)
It was a random Tuesday night after we got home from our trip to Indiana that I decided to take the test. It was positive so we ran to the store and bought a few more to be sure. After they were all positive, I made an appointment with my doctor for the following day to get an official test and the following day my doctor called me with the "congratulatory" call to let me know we were, indeed, expecting :)
So, I haven't had an ultrasound yet but based on the exam that my OB performed and the dates, my doctor expects that I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and I am due April 2. This due date might change after the first sonogram in September (it did for Bean, too.)
9 weeks! |
As soon as they left, the doctor came in with a very concerned look. Although I may have mentioned it briefly in the beginning of this blog, I didn't go into detail as to how traumatic and dangerous delivering Xavier truly became. Apparently, the doctor's of the practice had discussed my case at lunch previously that day and they had some very strong opinions as to how this delivery should go. When I told her I wanted to deliver baby number 2 naturally, she pretty much shot me down. Due to the damage Xavier did to my body, as well as the baby's safety, they are STRONGLY recommending that I have a C-section this time around. After a lengthy discussion, I said that I would consider it but we are "tabling" the whole conversation for now. I am hopeful that I am still able to deliver this baby naturally...maybe it won't be quite as big...or go 2 weeks overdue...Whatever the case may be, Dustin and I will make the smartest and safest decision for myself and the bambino :)
I am currently having an aversion to pretty much every food in the book. I am vomiting pretty regularly and feel tired, lethargic and light headed around the clock. School started back up this past week for me so that doesn't help matters. With all that being said, I am still feeling 100 times better than I did with Xavier! Hopefully the morning (afternoon and evening) sickness goes away soon!
But we know it will all be worth it :)
Sorry you`re going thru so much, hopefully things will improve soon. I was sick the whole nine months with my son, didn`t gain weight, the only thing that I kept inside was crackers & 7-up. He was a small 6lbs.4 oz. Maybe #2 won`t be a 9 pounder & you can deliver naturally.
