When we arrived at my parents' house, there was snow on the ground but it was nearly 60 degrees. The boys LOVED it and played in it for the next 2 days.
My mom was so excited about the first Christmas in their new house that she took decorating to a while new level. She hired an interior designer and together they decorated the whole house and put up THIRTEEN trees. She left the last tree in the basement for our boys to decorate and Dust even helped put the Star on the top :)
We had so much special family time. We made Gingerbread Houses, popped popcorn, watched movies, played games and ate all the food.
We also got to spend a day in Indy with Ruth, Warren, Deneen, Clay and the kiddos and it was lots of fun.
We were able to spend Christmas with my family, too, and see all of our favorites :)
We played games and the adults did a white elephant Christmas exchange...so fun!
On Christmas evening, the kiddos opened presents from mimi and papa and they were the heroes of the day. They got the boys so many nice things but the best part was their Nintendo Switch. :)
We hung around on the 26th for a while to spend a few quiet hours with my parents before heading back to Florida. This day end up being so special to me in my memory. You will soon read why. But, These pictures of the boys all playing cornhole together make me smile. :)
After a sad goodbye (and stealing all the snacks in mimi's pantry) we were on our way home.
We made half the trip home, stayed over night and then journeyed on.
While it is always sad leaving our family, coming home to our cozy, happy space always makes us all happy:)
We hope you all had a beautiful holiday season, too!
